Chilean film director and academic, with studies in visual arts with a major in painting. In 2008, he founded the audiovisual production company Punkrobot, along with the illustrator and plastic arts graduate Antonia Herrera, the graphic designer María Elisa Soto-Aguilar and the audiovisual communicator Patricio Escala.
Punkrobot Studio, based in Santiago, Chile, has established itself as a benchmark in the creation of high-impact visual content. Among its most outstanding productions are the preschool series “Flipos” (2010), “The Adventures of Muelin and Perlita” (2014), “Guitar and Drum” (2019) and “Wow Lisa” (2024).
In 2014, the Chilean studio premiered “Historia de un Oso” at the Chilemonos International Animation Festival, being awarded as the best Latin American short film.
Then, in 2016, this piece directed by Gabriel Osorio and created in the Punkrobot animation studio, became the first Latin American animation to win the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film, marking a milestone in the history of Chilean animation.
Punkrobot has also achieved international recognition with the short film “In The Stars”, part of Volume II of “Star Wars: Visions” (2023). He and the studio are currently working on his first feature film, “Brave Cat”.
